Foundation and anchoring
A sculpture does not simply stand on the lawn. What happens underneath decides whether it is still upright in ten years.
When a foundation is needed
From roughly […] kilograms, or where the object is tall and narrow. A concrete foundation below the surface, usually […] by […] centimetres, deeper than the root zone of the plants around it. None of it is visible.
On bedrock, which on Mallorca often lies directly beneath the soil, the anchors go straight in instead. That is faster and firmer.
On existing terraces we set the work on a load-spreading plate so that the slabs do not crack.
Anchoring
Stainless steel anchors, chemically set. On bronzes the anchors sit in the cast itself or in a welded plate, on stone in drilled blind holes.
Why anchor at all when the object weighs 500 kilograms: because of wind, because of children climbing it, and because of theft. A bolted object cannot be lifted onto a flatbed in twenty minutes.

Who does it
We do, with a fixed team on the island. You do not need to find a tradesman of your own.
What we need from you
Word on where the cables, the irrigation and the pool pipes run. A plan is enough; otherwise we search with a detector.
Whether your project needs a permit depends on the municipality and the plot. We supply the technical figures your architect or gestor needs for it.
What has to happen under your work is settled before you buy.
