What a sculpture for the garden costs

The longer answer is the interesting one, because it explains how two objects of the same size can sit a factor of three apart.

What sets the price

Material and weight

Bronze is cast and costed by weight. A solid work of 400 kilograms costs several times more to make than a hollow one of 90 kilograms, even when the two look the same. Corten steel is cheaper as material and demanding to build. Stone is worked out of the block, and there you pay for hours.

Unique work or edition

A unique work costs more than one cast from an edition of eight. Both are original art; the difference is the number of them.

The artist

Prices follow the market price of the sculptor in question, their exhibitions, collections and public sites. We add no markup of our own on top of that because the work is going to Mallorca.

What comes on top

Transport to the island, foundation, a crane where access is difficult. For objects up to 100 kg with normal access this is included. For anything beyond that you get the figure in advance.

Why we publish bands instead of “price on request”

Because “price on request” leads most people not to ask at all. Nobody wants to walk into a conversation and find out there that they were wrong by a nought. You should know the range before you start.
